Let me be the first to congratulate the team on an awesome All Fools Tournament Championship yesterday!
The team played with huge heart this weekend winning 5 games on Saturday. With 3 of those wins coming back from behind at half time.
The day started off rocky with the Hornets pulling out a close victory against the Chicago Riot as our first game. The second game was a blowout against the University of Illinois. Our third game, and final pool play match, was against a fast, strong Univ of Kentucky team; where the Hornets came back from a 12 point deficit with 16 minutes left in the game to win by 10.
After winning our pool we then played SIUC for the semifinal. That game really turned into us playing the entire Pool A with the numbers of whores that came out for SIUC. After a rocky first half, the Hornets shut them down in the second half to make it to the finals.
We played Kentucky again in the finals since they beat the Pool A champions. The Kentucky team came out strong and fast but once the Hornets settled into their style of play and started moving the ball from sideline to sideline the college kids couldn't keep up.
After the tournament, SIUC had a great social for all of the teams at a local bar where we got our massive 4 foot bullhorn trophy. I will bring it to practice on Wednesday but I am sure you can see it all over Suda's FB page.
