The Stinger is upon us, Saturday May 20th.
Bounce houses, BBQ, BEER and new this year a Basketball hoop. CornHole, Washers---fun to be had by all---bring your wife/girlfriends and children (if any other relatives are unexpectedly in town--bring them too).

Alright, it's that time of the year again for our main annual fundraiser.  I have attached the flyers for the First Annual Hornet Whiskey Tasting to be held at Modern Brewery on Saturday June 18th at Noon.  Southtown will be catering food as well.  We typically focus on only one or two fundraising opportunities a year to help support the finances of this club so please participate and sell this event!  This is going to be our biggest fundraiser of the year that keeps this ship sailing, do it!  Invite family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, etc.  Share this on FB, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.  Get the word out!

Mardi Gras season is upon us! Saturday February 14th 2015, from 8 am-7 pm we will be working BOOTH NUMBER 1, at 2151 South 11th Street.

We have a fantastic booth this year and if  we can get a good showing can really cash in. Last year we had a tremendous showing of guys and gals who came out, had some fun, and raised some money. I look forward to the same showing as last year. I need Hornets to email me directly with what shift they can work, AM, PM, or both. Am is from 8-2, PM from 2-7. Yes, February 14th is Valentines Day, so bring your lady to help lol. It is also my birthday, so no excuses why you cant come out to help. Events like this make this club run, please find time to have a great time with friends. Volunteers drink free, so keep that in mind if you bring anyone around who wants to help out.

I am pleased to announce that this years Christmas party will be December 13th at Napoli in Clayton, 7754 Forsyth Blvd, St Louis, MO 63105. Cost is $45 per person, or $90 per couple. Attire is coat and tie, dress to impress and show that special lady in your life you own more than Hornet gear (Suda tuxedo is optional). Open bar and heavy apps the entire night from 6-9. Afterwards I'm sure we will take to the streets. PLEASE get your checks made payable to  St.Louis Hornets RFC to Merrick or Toedebush. A great time to bring them would be to the AGM on November 12th at Southtown Pub. I need to have a head count, preferably by Thanksgiving.  See you there!

"I wanted to let you all know that I will be hosting the Stinger this year at my house. I'm sure that more info/details will follow.
I just wanted to tell you guys why. When I came out to the club approx '95/'96, the Stinger and the X-Mas party were hosted at a HOBO's home. Dan Young's house on Marmaduk with the pool, Haskins' place, the Farm in the Valley. Some of the X-Mas parties I remember were at Mick's or Bob Miller's place (I think...I drank to impress). The reason I bring this up is because I've always enjoyed the gatherings at someone's home versus a park or a venue like Pujols 5.  The reason I enjoyed these more is my impression that the home setting always seemed to bring out more of the old boys, wives and children----which is what I hope happens again. It goes without saying that I hope to see all the actives.
I know the dates are no longer fixed in stone as they once were, but if everyone enjoys coming over to my family's place--maybe we can get back to scheduling a date for the STINGER that everyone can put on their yearly calendar for the foreseeable future. This is my first try, so I'm sure there will be hiccups. But whatever happens, show up with your wives/girlfriends, children or some random child that was recently determined to be a love child of Trotters. Also---bring a chair to park your ass.

Practice for the new Cup season will begin Wednesday, July 30th 2014 and will continue every Wednesday there after. We are still practicing at Monsignor Meyer CYC fields located at 4354 S. Kingshighway St. Louis, MO 63109.  This is near Chippewa and Kingshighway across from St. Mary Magdalen parish and behind the National Guard building, from 7pm-9pm.  There is another rugby team on the same field so be sure to ask for the Hornets or look for our Yellow/Black apparel.

Be booted up and ready to rumble by 7, there is usually some bump going on beforehand to get loosened up as well.  Also, most importantly, be sure to allow some time after practice to enjoy a frosty beverage or two with your fellow Hornets, either at the practice fields or at our local club bars.
