The Hornets Rugby Club was founded in Humphrey’s Tavern during the summer of 1977.

From its inception, the Club was formed to promote good friendship, good play, and good drink in the spirit of rigorous competition coupled with the highest degree of sportsmanship.

During the last 28 years the Hornets have played in the Missouri Rugby Football Union, winning several division championships, and traveled the Midwest and farther to successfully compete in tournamements or play individual clubs.

Since the club’s first match over 250 players have participated in the Hornets Rugby Club. The Club has a strong active base that is complemented by and Old Boy network that stretches across the United States and overseas.
